Finding the perfect Pink Diamond Engagement Ring
Natural pink diamonds are commonly known as some of the rarest diamonds in the world. The Argyle diamond mine was the sourced majority of the world’s pink diamonds, close to 90%. Since the mine’s closure in 2020 due to being mined out, the supply of Argyle pink diamonds has now permanently become limited, making them increasingly sought after by collectors.
Pink diamond engagement rings can be designed in multiple different elegant styles. Due to their high price they are mostly used as accent stones, in either three stone and side stone engagement rings or in a halo around a beautiful white centre stone.
Our Collection of Argyle Pink Diamonds
Nick Ireland is proud to hold a beautiful collection of Argyle pink diamonds. These stones vary in size, colour intensity, shape and of course price allowing clients to see all options and select a diamond or set of diamonds that reflects their personal taste.
Because we have both loose pink diamonds and made pieces of jewellery, clients are given the rare opportunity to design their own bespoke jewellery piece around such a remarkable stone. Few jewellers worldwide have such a curated collection of Argyle Pink Diamonds available for unique engagement rings.
Crafted in our Brisbane Studio
Every pink diamond engagement ring created in our Brisbane studio is designed by his son Zac Ireland and personally handcrafted by Nick Ireland the ,aster jeweller himself. Our pink diamond engagement rings are usually framed around the argyle pink diamonds being the main design element whilst also complimenting the centre diamond.
As well as their natural beauty, argyle pink diamonds are also admired for their collectability and rarity. With the closing of the Argyle mine, these stones have become increasingly sought after by connoisseurs and collectors. For many of our clients, a pink diamond engagement ring not only represents a meaningful symbol of love and rarity, but also the opportunity to own a diamond with so much Australian history.
There is something special about combining Australian gold and precious metals with rare Argyle pink diamonds and having them crafted by an Australian jeweller into a beautiful piece of Australian jewellery, A true piece of wearable Australian history.

PINK DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RINGS
The value of a pink diamond, similar to a white diamond, is driven from colour intensity and the size of the stone. Stones that have a stronger and more vivid pink tone are considered the most valuable. Each diamond is obviously unique and different in its own way, Round diamond cuts are also the most sought after due to their rarity. This is because the yield from cutting a round diamond is the worst so diamond cutters would rather get a larger shaped stone other than round.
Argyle colour grades are rare in the fact they are one of the very few mines that created their own colour grading system because of such a large variety in beautiful colour hues. Their system evaluates both hue and intensity allowing a much better colour definition. Most of our significant argyle stones are laser inscribed and certified with GIA as well.
Argyle pink diamonds are considered collectable due to their extraordinary rarity and limited supply remaining after the closure of the mine in 2020. Imagine if you lose the supply of 90% of anything in the world. What would happen to the price of that commodity? There will come a point where you can’t just walk into a specialised jewellery store and buy pink diamonds, because there will be no more. There are very little investment grade pink diamonds available on the market now, let alone what will be available in 10+ years.
Selecting the right pink diamond is more difficult than it looks, with the right guidance and education this process becomes very simple. With Nick’s extensive knowledge and education in the space, we will only ever show stones that are the best of the best. Most clients start with choosing the diamonds first and then we create and design a ring around that stone/stones.
There’s a reason why diamond solitaire rings are more expensive than most other ring options couples will have. Big diamonds cost more than small ones, and the solitaire often uses a big stone. Solitaire also requires a diamond with higher values on its 4Cs, as imperfections are more visible in big stones. You can have your own engagement ring created, one that’s exclusively crafted for you.
Yes, a pink diamond can be used as a center stone or as accent stones in an engagement ring. Some clients prefer the pink diamond as the main focal point of the ring, this can also be accomplished when using them as accent stones around a white centre stone.

Solitaire settings are made to showcase the centre stone, Argyle pink diamonds can be a beautiful feature on a solitaire engagement ring. Whether they are featured in a hidden halo underneath the diamond, or meticulously set into the band, the natural hue of Argyle pink diamonds not only makes the centre stone look very white but also makes the beautiful argyle pink color so vibrant being next to a white centre stone.
