Choosing a Solitaire Engagement Ring
The Timeless Beauty of a Solitaire Engagement Ring
Solitaire engagement rings are chosen for their beautiful simplicity.
With a single diamond showcased in the centre of the ring, it allows the stone to be fully appreciated.
The centre diamond becomes the main focus of the ring in this design. This solitaire style has remained one of the more classic and traditional engagement rings due to its simplicity and timeless elegance. We often put small details in the ring like a hidden halo or diamonds in the band.
The Importance of Diamond Quality
Because solitaire engagement rings only feature one diamond in the centre, the quality of that diamond is very important. The Cut, Polish and symmetry together determine the brilliance of the diamond and how well it reflects light.
Nick Ireland has had over forty years of experience in dealing with diamonds, each diamond is still carefully selected by Nick himself looking for the perfect balance of cut, color, clarity and overall brilliance.

FAQ's
SOLITAIRE DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RINGS
What is a solitaire engagement ring?
A solitaire diamond engagement ring features a singular diamond set in the middle of the band, allowing the stone to take all of the attention. We often put diamonds into the band or a hidden halo of diamond underneath the stone to add another design element.
Why choose a solitaire engagement ring?
Solitaire engagement rings remain one of the most timeless styles, chosen for their beautiful simplicity and how it showcases the centre diamond so well. They have been the most popular engagement ring for decades and will always remain timeless, so it is a very safe design choice.
Where are our solitaire engagement rings made?
All of our engagement rings are made in our Brisbane showroom/workshop on site. From designing, to crafting, setting and polishing. Everything we do is made in house at our Brisbane studio and we welcome our clients to come to our Brisbane studio to see where all the magic happens and talk about diamond options and discuss the creation of an engagement ring
Are solitaire engagement rings more expensive?
With an unmistakable single diamond perched on top of a simple band, solitaire ring designs are perfect in showcasing the beauty of your chosen precious stone. This places great importance on the quality of the diamond, which is deemed to last forever and is, therefore, the best way to represent the unbreakable bond between the couple.
There’s a reason why diamond solitaire rings are more expensive than most other ring options couples will have. Big diamonds cost more than small ones, and the solitaire often uses a big stone. Solitaire also requires a diamond with higher values on its 4Cs, as imperfections are more visible in big stones. You can have your own engagement ring created, one that’s exclusively crafted for you.
Can solitaire engagement rings be customised?
Yes, because we craft and create all of our designs in our Brisbane workshop custom for each client. The design possibilities are endless and we often get clients showing us different aspects of designs that they would like to incorporate into one, which is very possible.
We have a beautiful range of stock in our Brisbane Showroom but we encourage clients to tell us about their partner and what she likes so we can craft her dream ring. It likely isn’t going to be sitting in a showcase somewhere. You give us the outline and we have the vision to bring your dream custom engagement ring to life.
Can a solitaire engagement ring feature a pink diamond?
Yes. A solitaire engagement ring can definitely feature an argyle pink diamond beautifully. Due to a solitaire design being so focused on the centre stone it’s nice to have some beautiful pink diamonds as accent stones to compliment the ring.
Solitaire settings are made to showcase the centre stone, Argyle pink diamonds can be a beautiful feature on a solitaire engagement ring. Whether they are featured in a hidden halo underneath the diamond, or meticulously set into the band, the natural hue of Argyle pink diamonds not only makes the centre stone look very white but also makes the beautiful argyle pink color so vibrant being next to a white centre stone.
Many of our rare stones are featured in our solitaire designs, especially in our collection of Argyle pink diamond engagement rings, where the beautiful colour and brilliance of these pink diamonds can be showcased and displayed in a really beautiful way.
